The Sumter, South Carolina native aspired to be a football player before a sidelining injury ended his career during his senior year at Clemson University. Switching gears from a pigskin to a six-string, Brice began working as a songwriter in 2007. Brice scored his first hit when he co-penned "More Than a Memory" for Garth Brooks in 2007.
