B.E. Taylor: B.E. Taylor, (birth name William Edward Taylor), was born and raised in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. B.E.'s parents, Bill and Betty Taylor, knew at a very early age that their son was destined to become a singer.

B.E. was stricken with a very serious kidney disease, Nephritis - "Bright's Disease," at the age of 11 that caused him to be hospitalized and confined to home care for over a year. He had to be tutored and had limited visitation since he was so susceptible to infection and germs.

You can only imagine the sadness he experienced watching the other children playing outside on hot summer days and sledding in the winter months. He filled his time by reading and listening to music. His parents bought him a guitar to help pass the time, and that's where it all began. He practiced endlessly, learning to accompany himself as he continued to have fun singing.

He recovered from his long illness and returned to school the following year. From that time on, he pursued his musical career. He was in various high school bands that played at dances, weddings, and local taverns. He eventually met up with four musicians and formed the successful B.E. Taylor Group.

Leading the charmed life

B.E. Taylor has been a longtime favorite in the Pittsburgh, PA area. He has had national success as the lead singer of the B.E. Taylor Group. A career that saw him record three major label albums in six years (two for MCA and one for Epic/CBS), score several regional top ten hits and score two BILLBOARD TOP 100 HITS with his release of "KAREN" on Epic Records and "VITAMIN L" on MCA records.

B.E. has written, performed, and produced for the award-winning cable TV show, LightMusic, for which he was the music director. LightMusic won the award for BEST Contemporary Christian/Mainstream Video Show in 1993, 1994, 1995. LightMusic aired on over 1000 cable systems in America and nine foreign countries. During 1994 - 1997 B.E. was music director and toured with Kathy Troccoli. While working with Kathy one of the highlights was performing in Central Park for the Pope's visit in 1994. B.E. has done commercial work and was heard on several national spots with: Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Old Navy, Cleveland Indians, etc. He was part of the morning show for the Pittsburgh Radio Station, 3WS, performing live from Disney World and on the Disney Cruise Ship in January 1999.

B.E.'s contribution to several fundraising compilation albums for Pittsburgh heritage rocker, WDVE (Album Rock oriented station), became radio staples. A version of Silent Night that B.E. placed on a 3WS (Oldies Pittsburgh Radio Station) became a "stunning request favorite that dwarfed the rest of the project" and produced a groundswell for a full length album. B.E. Taylor Christmas, on Chrishae Records, was released in 1994 and became an instant tradition in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and broke nationally in 1996.

Due to the success of the B.E. Taylor Christmas CD a live show was inevitable. B.E. Taylor brought his masterpiece to life in the form of a "live" Christmas Concert. The B.E. Taylor Christmas Concert has performed at the prestigious Heinz Hall (2 nights) in Pittsburgh, PA; The West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, Morgantown, WV; The Cathedral Auditorium, New Castle, PA; The Capitol Music Hall, (2 nights) in Wheeling, WV; The Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, WV, and The Lamb's Theater, New York City. .The show is a "sold out" event every year in each city in which it is performed.

The demand for another album became intense. Finally, in 1996, B.E. reentered the studio with Rick Witkowski, prepared to produce nothing less than a masterpiece. B.E. released Try Love on Chrishae Records in 1997. Try Love features the hit single "This Time," which was released and played nationally in 100 markets. It charted at #29 on Gavin's Adult Contemporary Chart. His second national release, "Love You All Over Again," was played in over 63 markets and is still receiving airplay on the nationally syndicated Love Song Show, Delilah, in 200 markets.

In December 2000, B.E. out does himself again with B.E. Taylor Christmas 2. He continues to transform traditional Christmas favorites and uniquely produce them in a way that only he can do, He has also added a couple NEW B.E. Christmas originals. B.E. Taylor Christmas 2 - a must have for your Christmas collection.

B.E. donates his time and talent to various worthwhile organizations such as the , United Way, Easter Seals Telethon, the March of Dimes, Toys for Tots, Bundle Up, YWCA, Early Learning Disabilities Institute, Children's Hospital, Tickets for Kids, etc., throughout the year. He supports and participates in "music appreciation" week in the tri-state area schools by sharing his music and message to students and faculty on the importance of keeping the "arts" alive and growing in our school systems.
